Orka are London based electronic duo Jens L. Thomsen and Francine Perry. The pair first started by crafting their own instruments out of agricultural tools when living on a small farm in the Faroe Islands. Still touring with some of those same instruments, this is not rural music as you might imagine it. From humble beginnings, the duo have created a bold, cathartic electronic sound that has earned them fans around the world, and two nominations for the Nordic Council Music Prize.

An electronic set not to be missed, you’ll find no laptop onstage, just a fully hardware set up with an emphasis on ‘liveness’ in the set. Still based on those homemade instruments, the sounds are largely broken up into samples. The music remains distinctively ORKA, while ushering in an exciting new twist in their sound, morphing into hardened, cathartic techno with a neanderthal sense of pace.
